Clywedog Reservoir The tallest concrete dam in the UK, with a height of 72 metres and a length of 230 metres. Plus visit the lead mine beneath. Paddle boarding lessons and fishing can be pre booked. Hafren Forest Walk to the source of the river Severn or just enjoy wild swimming and forest walking. Rhayader Red Kite Feeding Station See the sky clouded in red kites! Brilliant conservation work being done by the owners.


Mountain Bike heaven! Lots of trails to try and we are a short drive from the fabulous Nant Yr Arian. Powys Castle & Gardens The house, the gardens, the view, the tea room – WOW!  Beaches Ynslas Beach allows parking on beach and Borth village has both a fabulous beach front pub and ice cream parlour to finish the day! Aberystwyth has a traditional pier, with yummy fish suppers and very convenient pebble beach. Elan Valley reservoir and hotel is simply stunning in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains – top of the world!


Devils Bridge Scary steps lead you to waterfalls and legends.. with the fabulous Hafod Hotel across the road for recovery and beautiful food. Another wow factor.

Cinema with a difference There are more local cinemas but please go further and try our favourite, art-deco cinema with velvet curtains, armchairs and gin and tonics!


Local pubs All the pubs are lovely in Llanidloes serving local beer, ale and Welsh Gin plus great food – we’ll give you a list!
